Destructive Flood Ravages Ireton Area Strikes Towns

Heavy rain caused rivers to swell into lakes, washing out tracks and bridges and damaging farms across the county. Bridges failed, rural mail routes were disrupted, fences down, livestock drowned, and telephones, sewers, and buildings suffered, while lightning killed a steer and barns sustained minor damages.

Hay Sub Railroad Interfered With Cattle Shipments

Stockmen in Ireton accuse the Hay Sub Railroad Co of dragging twenty carloads of cattle at Eagle Grove and feeding them at excessive cost.
