Death of J. W. Waite Noted Sioux County Leader

The funeral of J. W. Waite, a prominent early settler and political figure in Sioux County, was held at Hawarden. Services were at the residence of F. E. Watling with Chittendes of the Presbyterian church officiating. Waite died after a long illness, and was interred in Hawarden cemetery. He had served on state and congressional delegations and once chaired the Te vot Pee Gackien coat te See, according to the obituary.
