Quiet Union Township Wedding In LeMars

Two Union township youths wed quietly in LeMars on Thursday morning. Justice A A Alline performed the ceremony at his Court Street home after a license was issued. The bride is the daughter of Mrs Anna Geary, and the groom the son of Mr and Mrs John Manning, early settlers and farmers in the township. Friends extend best wishes for a happy and prosperous married life.

A Happy Wedding Record at Taine Home

Last Wednesday June 23 a wedding took place at the home of Mr and Mrs Taine with family and friends in attendance. The ceremony was intimate and marked by warm well wishes for the couple.

Chautauqua Season Opens in LeMars With Wing Arthur's Court

The Redpath-Vawter Chautauqua returns to Cleveland Park July 12 to 18 featuring King Arthur's Court as the children's work and an eight act music lineup led by the Mirksmith Orchestra. Sioux City Auto Club Plans $1000 Road Improvements

The Sioux City Automobile Club begins a $1000 program to improve principal roads entering Sioux City. Work will start on the Brughier crossing to Riverside park stretch and extend to W end street, with emphasis on drainage and removing bumps. Floyd river road work starts at 22nd and Court to LeMars, aided by Plymouth county officials and auto owners.

Brunsville Elevator Fund Progress Meeting Delayed

Farmers and others in the new town of Brunsville have raised funds for a 10 000 bushel elevator. A meeting in the Johnson store was poorly attended due to a date mix up, and a follow up gathering is set for 7 o clock next Saturday evening July 2 with Hon James Hughes presiding. The Alton picnic drew about 100 from LeMars with speakers Revo Van Duin Judge William Thitchinson and Miles II Driver of Chicago. Nassau beat Capel 18 to 3 and Alton defeated Carnes 12 to 2. planners hope the picnic becomes an annual event.

Westfield edges LeMars in disputed nine inning game

LeMars and Westfield battled to a 7 to 5 score with Westfield taking the win. Millette struck out 12 for Akron while LeMars tied in the sixth and seventh as Bartels Strouse and Strobel starred. a late home run by Haas and two base hits by Werndl and May highlighted the contest. A blown call in the top of the tenth sparked controversy as LeMars left the field and both teams called for a rematch with a different umpire.
