Le Mars promoters hail the second annual Chautauqua as the best in Iowa with $2000 in talent. Governors La Follette and William Jennings Bryan are slated to speak, and the Fourth of July program features Hon. Fred T. DuBois. thousands are expected to attend across two Sundays at Cleveland Park with expanded tent sales and home entertaining plans.

LeMars Gas expands mains to boost city lighting

The LeMars Gas company plans extensive summer upgrades to its system, adding about two miles of main. Investments reach several thousand dollars to raise plant standards to eastern levels as it lays six inch, four inch, and two inch lines. The goal is full city coverage with 26 miles currently in place and ongoing annual additions.

William Muth and Misa Mary Thinnes were married in St Patrick Church Akron Iowa on June 19 1907 at 8 30 am in the presence of relatives and friends officiated by Rev D K Hurley The bride is daughter of Mr and Mrs Peter Thinnes Akron and the groom son of Mr and Mrs Muth Preston township They will reside in Akron and later farm locals note relocation of Wyckoff stock to a nearby building.

Perdue to Leave LeMars Church After Year End

Rev A W Perdue announces he will not seek re election as pastor when his year ends in late August. He plans to continue in ministry in another field, citing no explicit reason but dissatisfaction with attendance and support. Mrs Perdue will travel to New Mexico to stay with her nephew Prof Anderson who has interests in Mexico.

Two Painters Fall Twenty Five Feet in Lincoln Township

Blumer and Kiggon, painters for Albert Belngartner, toppled from a 25 foot trestle at a Lincoln township house site. They were rushed to LeMais home with serious injuries. Dr. P Schwindt attended. Blumer brothers suffer possible internal chest injuries, one with a broken leg and ankle dislocation.

Arrested For Peeping In Edmonds Shadow

George Miller son of B Miller was arrested by Deputy Marshal Fitzpatrick at the Edmonds home for peeping. Edmonds chased a man seen at the window and Miller was found hiding under a manure wagon behind Munro's barn. He pled not guilty and a trial date was set with City Attorney McDuffie for the city. The mayor took the matter under advisement.

Brother slain on sad Webster City mission

James Cragg of Webster City was found fatally injured beneath a bridge after leaving a Fort Dodge bound train. Authorities suspect foul play and possible robbery as the motive. Funeral services were held at his Webster City home with many mourners.

Sioux City Journal reports the district court discharged A. B Beal as receiver of the Sioux City and Rock Springs Coal Mining Company in Sweet Water County Wyoming. Death of Miss Ellen Foley in Sioux City

Miss Ellen Foley daughter of Mrs. M Woley died in Sioux City after typhoid fever illness. Remains brought to the Broken Kettle home and funeral held from St James Guard with Rev Father BE O Farrell presiding. Burial in LeMars Catholic cemetery. Two Foley sons returning from hospital attended. Typhoid fever affected several Foley family members.

Mrs Louis Singer was taken to St Joseph hospital in Sioux City last Tuesday. Pat Hughes is erecting a barn on his farm 52 by 60 feet and 26 feet high. On Thursday June 13 death took from Mr and Mrs Peter Kooh one of their children. The Misses Mamie and Nettie Ma Coy visited at the S Rothlisbarger residence since the closing of their Fecal and returned to their home in LeMars last Monday. Photographer Dwight received a telegram last week Sunday about the death of his sister Mrs Olmier Nobel of Stillman Illinois. Dwight departed at once for Stillman for the funeral.
