Ovens area notes show St Catherine's students enjoying a grade level picnic and a school program in Columbus hall. Eighth graders Raymond Scheitler Ervan Masuen Ralph Delperdang Magnus Schnepf Lou Homan Frances Delperdang Walter Kuden Deloria Masuen Magdalen Gengler Geraldinge Eufers Dorothy Cronin Isabel Meis Esther Ludwig receive diplomas. Proceeds support a school library fund. Colonel relatives attend from out of town. A kittenball benefit dance in Columbus hall draws positive crowds. Maurice Carrigan and Paula visit Adrian for graduation of Maurice’s sister June.
In Le Mars area many neighbors visited and attended events. Craig and Mrs Meyer plus locals attended the Reading township No. 7 school picnic and the Ireton high school graduation was well represented by Craig residents. Mourning families include William Trafton of Struble and Hermann F. Dommer, with many calling locally. The Ruble district No. 2 held a postponed picnic with guests and teachers listed. Frances Finney of Hawarden contracted to teach next year.
Sioux City callers Tuesday include Mr and Mrs John Reduzzi Edna and Norma and Mrs J J Noel. The Bride of Frankenstein was shown in LeMars Sunday evening. Edwin Manstein, ill, had a typhoid test sent to Iowa City after a recent doctor consult though his condition remains not serious. Harm Klave Hank Ludwig Alvin Winterel and others visited Sioux City Tuesday. In school news Ledo and Edna Peruzzi posted four years of perfect attendance as students and parents supported the effort. Mrs Peruzzi, Italian born, received naturalization papers in Sioux City court. Lena and Francis Tripp were honored for perfect attendance in Miss Donovan's class. Betty Lou Smith and Dorothy Baack praised for perfect spelling. Tripp children faced long walks to school. August Wilkens fell while boring and strained his back. Martin Wilken helps with farm chores.
Sioux City shoppers visit Ak ron Akron hosts and guests attend ladies aid and memorial services. Several Kallsen and Lunde families from Akron Craig share dinners, visits, and errands in Sioux City LeMars and Kingsley Iowa with weddings celebrate Memorial Day services and housework help noted.
R A Zimmerman described a winter journey of five thousand miles with no tire troubles. He spent most of the season in the Imperial Valley of Texas enjoying affordable furnished apartments and meals. The traveler noted cheap living, plentiful food, and friendly tourist camp life amid a cross section of United States and Canadian visitors.
