A fragmentary LeMars community column lists visitors and gatherings. Mrs Mary Kleithauer hosted and neighbors like Mrs Kruse and children shopped locally. John Osterbuhr celebrated a birthday with friends while Miss Mildred Brecht headed to Detroit.
A group of friends and relatives surprised Jack Osterbuhr at Ray Hiller’s Brurlaville home on a Sunday night birthday party. Mr and Mrs Bill Rees of Le Mrs spent the day with them.
The report lists numerous guests including Mr. and Mrs. Jack Reese and Hazel and Pearl Tallas, Marie Helen and Kelly Johnson, Herb Morse, Bud Waterbury, Otto Oltmanns family, and Gerd Osterbuhr family. The evening featured card games, with other visitors and local outs for business in Brumsville and Brunaville. A Brunsville Christmas program entertained schoolchildren, followed by refreshments. Mrs. Anna Diedier left for Sioux City after two weeks with her daughter.

Tra of Akron and three sisters Mrs. Lias of Westfield Mrs. Barman of Mapleton Iowa and Mrs. Lower of Akron mourn a longtime resident. Funeral services were held at the Methodist church in Akron with Rev Gaw officiating. Interment in Riverside cemetery. He was a quiet unassuming man and a staunch friend and neighbor.
