Easter Services Across City Mark Joyous Celebration

Easter Sunday was observed by city churches with lavish music and children’s programs. Dr. George H. Cornell delivered his final Trinity Church address while St Mary’s and St Patrick’s offered grand choral masses, altar lilies, and large congregations. Saint Wenceslaus held sunrise prayers and confirmation with benevolent collections.

Easter Singers Lift Spirits at University Hospitals

Sweet child voices sang of the risen Lord on Easter morning at the University and Homeopathic hospitals. Miss Kyle organized the event with teachers guiding the young singers to the Rest rooms of the King's Daughters and then to the wards, bringing cheer to patients and convalescents.

Wall collapse at Sumimik Street residence after rainfall

Heavy rain Saturday night undermined a new foundation wall at the T. B. Wales property on Sumimik Street. The front wall stood about three feet high before rain caused it to cave in. workers began tearing the wall down to rebuild.
