Several carloads of out of town guests traveled to Lexington on Monday evening to surprise Rev and Mrs L Wood with a farewell party. The event featured greetings, fellowship, and refreshments as the Wood family prepares to move.
Dwight Misener and family, from Portland, visited this week and announced purchase of 2600 acres north of Lane, including the old Sperry ranch, from the Friewald estate and C. L. Squire. The price is 94000 dollars with a crop payment plan and no interest. The transaction was handled by R L Peake real estate in Portland.
Vancouver resident John Harbke visits the locality to invest in farming interests. Walla Walla hosts W W A Smith and family. Jane Fitzpatrick, Miss Williams class, suffers a serious cut from broken glass needing seven stitches. The girl recovers at T B Grabill home before returning home. Dry Fork trader Bill McClintock delivers hogs to Lone Meat Market. L P Davidson continues road to recovery as Louis Balsizer drives Elva home from Eugene. Mrs Holmes Gabbert and Patricia Anne visit from Portland with Mrs Fred Mankin. Jimmie Cochran ill with intestinal flu. Mrs Martin Baurenfeind assists her mother Kira Willard Farrens is very ill on Second Street. Mrs E S Bristow and Licile return from Walla Walla. Norton Lundell misses school due to illness. Misenera welcomed back to the community. Day old chicks arrive with four hundred shipped last week by express and three hundred by the post. Mr and Mrs M Schriver and Mr and Mrs T B Logedos Schriver of Amity attend funeral for Mrs Wayne Schriver in Lexington. Clyde Schriver makes a refure trip as far as Movies. Mrs Nedra Axce returns home after nine months visiting relatives in Los Angeles and Opal City. Continued on page 4.
