Mrs Barbara Ann Ritchie Dies at 85 in Oregon

Funeral services were held at the Congregational church in lone for Mrs Barbara Ann Ritchie who died in Portland at her son George W Ritchies home. Born in 1845 she married Alexander Ritchie and lived in lone and nearby areas, leaving seven children and many grandchildren.

Cecil News Items Reflect Local Visits and Fires

Mrs George Krebs and family visited with sister Mrs Best and daughter Miss Kinner of Garibaldi. John Nash family lost household furnishings in a Friday afternoon fire and occupied a Cecil house. insurance covered the loss. This is the third time burned out in recent years. Herbert Hynd visited Pendleton. Mr and Mrs Hurst and daughter Shirley of Portland stay with the Krebs families. M W Sharrard and son Eugene returned from a trip north to the Canadian line. they visited Francis and Mrs Sharrard and Arthur Sharrard of Seattle. Johnny Gates seen in a Ford from Mr Hawecost. Shaw, brother of Mrs J Hynd, is a house guest at Jack Hynd's. Mrs Albert Warren hosted aunt and cousin, Mrs Belle and daughter of Pendleton. Mrs Leon Turner and daughter visit her parents in La Grande.

Willows Grange Hosts Krebs Family Gathering

About two hundred Grangers enjoyed the Krebs hospitality with hearty lunch and enthusiastic talk of a new Grange hall. A fine program is planned for Saturday night August 16 with a small admission, followed by a second show August 23 by the sisters featuring Aunt Jerusha on the War Path. cast is selected and practice begins soon.
