Northeastern A&M dominates Fort Scott Relays with 117 points

Northeastern A&M of Miami Oklahoma won all three relays and topped team scoring with 117 points at Fort Scott Relays. Fort Scott JC finished second with 68, followed by ACCJC with 43 as Doug Shreves of Lawrence High set a season best 4 27.5 in the mile.

Telecast Set for Big Eight Track Meet Across Midwest

The Big Eight announces a 35-station network will air the 62nd conference track championships May 17 at Iowa State University. All Saturday final events go color live at 1 p.m. CDT for two hours, with some events later on ABCs Wide World of Sports. Glenn Cunningham, Max Falkenstien, and Bruce Rice will handle on-air duties. Stations in Kansas Missouri Oklahoma Colorado Nebraska Iowa South Dakota Minnesota will carry the feed.

ACCJIC Hosts High School Track Meet

The Allen County Community Junior College hosts a high school invitational track meet this afternoon with Area 1-A and 2-A schools including Humboldt Moran and Colony. Over 10 schools participate as the event runs into late afternoon or early evening. ACCJC will host the Jayhawk Conference Eastern Division League Meet on Thursday.

Weiland Clinches Third in Tulsa Point Standings

Al Weiland's modified racer moved into third in the Tulsa Speedway points after Jack Belk of Joplin pressured him to second in the heat and sixth in the main event. Rain delayed Saturday races to last night. Belk then strengthened the Belk Weiland team's grip on first with a heat win and fourth in the A feature at Muskogee Thunderbird Speedway. Weiland heads to Joplin Ozark Speedway tonight with a second place in points there.

Iola Track Team Faces SEK Meet In Pittsburg

Rain disrupted the season as Iola High School placed seventh in the 3 A Baker Relays at Baldwin with 15 points. Ottawa won 3 A with 64 points while Iola’s mile relay finished third and individual placers included Lane, Rosacker, Bass, Scofield, and Curry.
