A's Bando Explodes With seven RBIs In 13-5 win over Pilots

Oakland’s Sal Bando, after going 0-for-10 in two Seattle games, slugged two homers and a single driving in seven in a 13-5 pounding of the expansion Pilots at Sick’s Stadium. Frank Robinson led Baltimore with four runs in each game of a doubleheader sweep of the Yankees as the Orioles moved within one game of Boston in the East. Other AL results included Washington over Cleveland 6-5 and Detroit beating Boston 7-4. Minnesota topped Chicago 4-3 in eight innings. California beat Kansas City 6-2.
