Scouts Rally in Thrilling Alva Game for 23 to 16 Victory
Alva team led by Dillon Roland and Harold Wells tallied 16 runs while the Scouts answered with 23, highlights include Vern Clark’s five runs and Bud Martin plus Willard Ripley scoring early. Arthur Thomas and Arthur Homans praised for solid play. Mrs. Roy Bush hosted dinner for visiting players after the game. The rematch is set for next Saturday at Alva.

Death of Mrs H J Guilliams Leaves Five Orphans
Mrs H L Guilliams died yesterday at her home ten miles west of town after a three week illness from kidney trouble. She was a wife and mother of five children all under ten. Funeral services were held at the home by Rev McRae at 9 30 this morning and interment followed in Storm Cemetery. The Globe extends sympathy to the grieving family.

Brown family returns home from Wyoming ranch
Mrs L A Brown and children spent the summer at a Wyoming ranch and are now home in their Spent fish residence. Miss Mil dred Pryor and Fannie Norris left for Water town for the coming year. The South Dakota state quarantine against sheep in Custer county Montana and Crook county Wyoming, declared in February 1909, has been lifted as the contagious disease is said to be stamped out.
