Donald Hall hosts a dance canceled due to illness. Cattle scarce on the range with few visible on a long 40 mile ride. Ranch activity includes sheep, stock movements, and road work by the county. Several residents travel or visit Ridge Moorcroft Belle Fourche and Pleasant Valley with small incidents noted. Dr. Baker welcomes wife and daughter for winter.
The Pacific Monthly from Portland Oregon announces a slate of features on Western industries. September covered Success with Cherries and October on Success in Growing Apples with plans for live stock walnuts fodder crops and other strong independent articles.
Mr. Sapp visited Moorcroft Friday. Fred Williams owns 85 acres of fall grain. Frank Summers and family spent Sunday at Mr. Sissons. J. Feight helped Bert Lymon display. Mr. and Mrs. Brant welcome a baby girl. Will Mayer aided F. Aurand with his fodder. Marion Sisson helped Mr. Eriest build a granary. Avrand and Vernon visited Sundance. Many locals sowed wheat and rye but drought makes prospects uncertain.
Anna Cocooupuni and Abe Simon visited Owen Conley on Sunday. Artie Conley rode a new horse the other day. Dave Fordyce and Owen Conley stored threshing gear for winter last Monday. Dan Lash and Abe Simon moved a wood saw near Forest at week’s end. A dance at Owen Conleys next Saturday invites all. Jim Clark’s store moved to Clark ranch last Friday and will operate there.
The Belle Fourche area hears a report on forming a Commercial Club led by secretary H O Cooley. A nine week study follows with model plans to boost the town, while residents like Carl Lindsay and Alma McRae are noted among ongoing local happenings and regional activity.
