District Court Opens With Weaver Rape Case Jury View
In Crook County district court the State of Wyoming versus W A Weaver for rape began with jury selection. Witnesses for the state argued he is guilty while defense asserted Weaver’s reputation and age negate the charge. The jury later on ballot returned not guilty. The May term continued with naturalization and jury proceedings and other cases heard that week.

Dr. F Orvel Hanna of Lingle Wyoming and Miss Eva Byrd were married at the bride’s parents home in Hulett last Saturday at 9:00 am Rev J M Brown officiating. The couple, already popular in the region, plan to settle in Lingle after a honeymoon trip to the Black Hills Sundance and Denver. Louise Russell served as bridesmaid and Arthur Guthrie as best man.

Obituary of Edith Mae Perrigo Engle at Hulett Wyoming
Edith Mae Perrigo Engle died at her Hulett home May 14 1918 after moving from Monticello Indiana to Wyoming in 1900 and marrying Everette C Engle in 1901. She was a devoted wife and mother active in the Hulett Rebekah Lodge with funeral services at the Hulett church led by Rev J M Brown and burial in Storm cemetery. She is survived by her husband three children Marie Jay Naomi her parents and multiple siblings in Indiana Michigan and Kansas with armed service members noted as part of the family.

Charles Brown's wagon team ran away near Moorcroft while hauling salt for Hulett Mercantile. He escaped injury but the wagon and gear were damaged as the team bolted. Royal Prince Herald will stand at the John Stoddard Ranch six miles NW of Hulett this season, according to R. T. Tate of Hulett Wyoming.

Auto High Dive Tragedy Near Dalton Bridge Alarms Hill
George Oliver tried a high dive stunt with his Overland touring car last Monday morning near Dalton bridge. Brakes failed, car plunged over a barn eleven to twelve feet, front axle broken. no serious injuries in both of two similar hill accidents.

Litter of Seventeen Pigs Reported in Crook County
Chas A Pearson writes his cousin Treed Pearson that he owns the most patriotic hog in Crook county. A broad son of Pearson fathered a litter of seventeen pigs, fourteen surviving. The ranch is just over Bear Lodge. Leland Ripley's saddle horse fell, bruising a foot, placing him on the list for a few days. Wayne Moore visited from Aladdin to spend several days at the ranch.
