Sadie Davis of Hulett and Hazel Smith of Beulah passed the common school diploma exam held in Sundance Hulett and Gillette on November 26th 27th 1909. Regular 1910 exams are scheduled for March 26 26 June 17 18 August 26 27 and November 28 29.
The law states no teacher may be paid from public funds without a valid Wyoming certificate. When a teacher applies and pays the fee, county superintendents may issue a temporary permit for a period set by the Board of Examiners. Upon the State Board of Examiners report, the permit becomes inoperative.
