Neighborhood Notes From Alva Christmas Cheer and Events

Herb Sutton and George Morrison had dinner in town Sunday. Vic French moved into Dan Ruland's new residence on M. C. T. Ave. P. V. Wells holidaying with his boys on Whitetail ranch. Mrs. Pollock returned to Deadwood after visiting her son Ben Colvin. Miss Hilda Neilson spent Christmas at the McAmis home and praised their hospitality. Auto season active with Belle Fourche visitors. F. D. Bothwell and wife to move to Lead for winter. Walter Miller and wife run the restaurant till spring. Ben Colvin's auto out Sunday, needed help to town. James Reel wood-cutting crowd hosted by Mrs. Albert Knowles for a big dinner. Alva Christmas Eve dance crowded. New Year dance may require hall addition. Willie Smith from Blacktail on business. Henry Davidson doing carpentry and flue work. Jim Bates' dance on the 19th well attended. Mrs. W. Tracy ill. Mrs. Emmet Redding home from Ohio visit. Walter Marchant pair welcome a baby boy. Ed Allen family and Mrs. H. C. Warford enjoy Christmas dinner at Minnich's. Thanks for Christmas stationery gratefully received.

Christmas Eve Dance and Family Visits in Miller Creek

W D Kelly and family spent Christmas at the Conley home and Kelly with M R Dagger traveled to Moorcroft Friday for their saw mill. A L Storts and family attended the Pecit house dance. The Fischer boys and Scott Miller and wife returned from Montana last week. H C Warford went to Hulett Wednesday to help with the orchestra for the Christmas Eve dance.

Christmas Traditions and Travel Noted Across Local Homes

Art Montgomery celebrated Christmas amid family and friends. Owen Conley hauled wheat to Sundance and later took hogs to Wooldridge ranch the first of the week. The Pecht place hosted a large dance with various families joining the Conleys for the holiday. Blanche Dagger visited home folks while Mrs. Feigel planned Campstool ranch meals. Tower Chimes reports a fountain pen gift from the Globe.

Barlean Family and Local Sale Reported Busy Week

Sam Barlean called on his uncle last week. The sale at W B Walker's was well attended and everything sold well. Mike Barlean and Mrs Barlean visited Ben Phillips' home last Sunday. The Anderson sisters of Spearfish South Dakota are home for Christmas. Mike Barlean and daughter Lottie traveled to Belle Fourche, a three day trip. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year wishes.

Culver cadet Ralph Hickey visits over holidays

Ralph Hickey from Culver Indiana arrived Friday to spend the holidays with his parents after attending Culver academy. Bee Lum Storm complained of cold while passing Del’s place on Tuesday. W. C. Deming declined to seek the gubernatorial nomination. Denver Woods’s pardon request was denied by the board of pardons in Bisma rck after a 13 year sentence for killing Adelbert Crowe. he had served about two years.

Maddison Martin Wedding at Aladdin Wyoming

Miss Del la Martin and Mr. Tom Maddison wed Christmas day at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Mann in Aladdin Wyoming. The ceremony was performed by Rev. D. W. Tracy with Mendelssohn music and a four course luncheon. The bride, attended by Ora Maddison and Irvin Heide, wears white jeweled embroidered chiffon. groom in black. Guests admired decorated rooms and a display of gifts. The couple will reside in Aladdin.
