Burglary Hits Victor Pharmacy Safe Stolen Funds
Burglars moved a 1,000 pound safe from Victor Pharmacy No 2 at 2802 East Washington St taking between 6600 and 7000 dollars in state funds plus 35 dollars to the cash register and blank money orders. The safe was dragged to a side street loaded onto a car after being bored through and the rear door forced. Checks were left with the safe. A large sedan was seen nearby by Officer Edward Pruitt who arrived to find the drug store’s safe battered and the scene under investigation. Other break ins were reported around town including Grand Union Tea Co Civic filling station and a grocery ransack with small cash losses. A 17 year old, William Martin, was arrested on vagrancy charges after fleeing a nearby alley.

Two Dead in Blasts in Los Angeles Gas Incidents
Gus Sandberg star catcher for the Los Angeles club of the Pacific Coast League died from burns suffered in an auto gas tank explosion Sunday. Henry Fisher, 49, died after a blast when attempting to light a cigar in a gas filled room. Mrs. L. L. Dugan and Mrs. Mary Lannon were near death from injuries from a gas explosion at Mrs. Armando Warneke’s home when a cigarette was lit. Fire kills two children at Hammonds Corners farm home
