Amarillo Texas August 30 United Press reports A D Payne once brilliant attorney dies in a county jail cell by lying on a nitroglycerin bottle it exploded tearing the cell. He had earlier caused a fatal explosion that killed his wife using a similar device. He left letters to his mother and mother in law and believed he was joining his wife in the afterlife. His brothers arrived but showed little emotion.
