In Marseilles on September 20 engineer Cok from Chicago was badly injured and his sister Miss Cok was killed when their car struck a stone wall near Beausette. Two other occupants were reported injured.
Vernon Indiana man Jesse Rosan and Travis Ousley are jailed as police investigate a purse snatching at Fort Wayne bound Cecil Clark of Collier's Weekly. Clark’s $15 and a railroad ticket were taken. Rosan and Ousley deny involvement and face police court Wednesday.
In a circuit court hearing Richard A Hollywood and Carrie E Hollywood face a claim of cruel treatment. The defense cited a Bloomington Indiana affair with Elisabeth Litz as evidence of Hollywood boasting about a girl seen by friends. The case proceeds to argument at a later date and the Hollywoods are noted as lodge leaders.

In San Francisco a retired express robber known as Black Bart, now called C. B. Bolton, reportedly receives $20 monthly from Wells Fargo for staying honest. The arrangement began years ago after his capture and supposed reform, with the scheme prompting questions about whether honesty truly pays.
Henry W. Bullock moved Monday in circuit court to stop county officers from paying fees to Leonard Quill county clerk. Quill is named in Bullock’s actions against Sheriff Woessner auditor treasurer and county commissioners. Proceedings aim to deprive those officers of fees they claim are due.

Cle Hendrickson arrested for 80 mph on E Washington. asked to postpone case to Tuesday.
