Spencer Tolliver a 25 year city employee was fined 10 dollars and costs in police court on a resisting an officer charge. He later sought the man he claimed arrested him Bicycleman George Lush denied being the culprit and Tolliver was placed in the cooler with Alf dozen officers observing.
In Hamilton Ohio on September 17 a stranger enticed five year old Hattie Motzer and six year old Stella Motzer with candy. He dragged them into an alley struck Hattie and wounded Stella with a knife. Bloodhounds traced the scent to Joe Roth 35, found in bed. Roth was arrested amid fears of mob violence as the girls’ father vowed revenge.
Ex Judge Frank McCray enters police court with a flashy new five dollar hat only to discover it missing from the bench minutes later a jail search failing to locate the headgear. He vows to find the thief and restore his pride, then tries to laugh it off.
Indianapolis man Harry Shannon was arrested near the fair grounds with a shell rack outfit and walnut shells. Detectives doubted his account, and Squire White fined him 85 dollars and costs totaling 36, sending him to jail.
