Rennes dispatch notes that three factors turned the trial against Alfred Dreyfus. The judges believed he lied to deny known points and sighted the Mulhouse maneuvers. Richard Mattern a carpenter fell through joists from the second story at Henry Thienis residence Twenty second street and N Capitol avenue Wednesday evening as he was quitting work. He sustained deadly bruises in the incident.

Mrs. Cartrider of 151 East Washington requests the Cincinnati police contact the city department to learn how her son Charles Purdue died in a Cincinnati hospital. The boy had knife wounds found on his head leg and abdomen after the body returned home. The Cincinnati hospital reportedly said the autopsy caused the injuries and death was listed as typhoid pneumonia. She questions why an autopsy was needed and why the head and leg were opened.
August C. Kempf, 684 North Priest Street, suffered a severe leg and head injury at the Indianapolis chair company plant. While operating a drill, a loosening bit hurled into his left thigh and scalp, severing an artery. Surgeons Karchner and Loop operated, removing the spur from bone, and he was sent home after anaesthesia. Kempf, a forty year employee, had no prior serious injuries.
