Pima Woman Charged With Murder Over Buried Newborn
In Tucson on September 3 a Pima Indian named Nieves was arrested for murder after burying her newborn child alive. Agent Berger learned of the case and exhumed the body. The incident stems from tribal beliefs about newborn appearance and disgrace to the tribe.
