Firemen Injured In Crash With Work Train
Samuel Hensley driver of the Indian apolis fire department chemical wagon was severely injured in a collision with a Traction and Terminal work train at Illinois and Maryland streets after 1 p m Wednesday. Miles Fitzgerald a pipeman was injured about the legs and William Kennedy riding the wagon rear was thrown onto the work train and escaped with sight injuries. Hensley was cut about the head and unconscious. The chemical wagon was rushing to box 52 when the work train crossed Illinois street. Motorman Lewis Lackey allegedly did not heed a street sweeper flag and pushed ahead. The horses driven by Hensley were badly cut and the wagon hit the train at an angle.
