Man Killed By Train While Leading Cow Home
Valentine Herman, 57, of 2171 Massachusetts Ave, was killed Friday evening near his home by a Big Four engine. While guiding a cow across the rope attached to his arm, a hook snagged the track and the engine struck the rope, throwing him against the tender and breaking several ribs. He died at City Hospital at 4 am. He was a tree trimmer with a widow and seven children.
