A remarkable cluster of ten large apples hangs in T McClain s cigar store on Delaware Street just south of Ohio. The apples, each at least six inches in circumference, grow on a dough of lead pencil width, raised on the farm of John T Tobias who is a cousin to McClain in Scotia county. McClain lived on the Tobias farm forty years ago.
The American liner St. Louis and the White Star liner Majestic will race across the Atlantic starting Wednesday to deliver European mails in London first. The Southern Pacific event in Texas has been instructed not to transport any more necro colonists amid fare guarantee concerns.

Cashier Coleman admitted to a shortage and confessed after a visit by President Coone and Coleman’s relatives in St Louis. Cole man’s whereabouts are unknown as investigations continue.
During the palace attack rioters killed three women in a bedroom, with one believed to be the queen. Albany reports Thatcher accepted the Democratic mayoral nomination pledging to move Union College from Schenectady to Albany if elected.
Information from Ku Cheng reports the deadlock between Chinese authorities and the investigating commission over missionary killings is resolved. The British consul met Fukien’s viceroy and 18 more prisoners will be executed. The rest of the natives in custody will be tried by the commission with power to impose death. A Lloyds dispatch from Valparaiso reports the American ship Parthia bound for San Francisco with coal was burned at sea on October 1. The vessel was a total loss. Some crew reached shore in a boat, but the captain, chief mate, and nineteen crew members remain missing.
Elizabeth M. Flagler daughter of Gen Flagler has been indicted for manslaughter in the killing of Eranest Green colored last August. The incident occurred when Green and other boys were said to be stealing pears from the Flagler yard. The bill was found last Friday but kept secret and not yet handed to the court.
