In Tiverton Rhode Island on October 14, Mrs. Sarah Grinnell identified the mutilated remains as her step-daughter Julia Grinnell, missing from Fall River since August. Fall River police were notified as Mrs. Grinnell, with a baby, viewed the feet to confirm the linkage before medical examiners.
Frank Claspill told his wife to find work and then struck her several times after she returned home to their address at 526 Dover Street in W. Indianapolis. He, aged 19, was fined 25 dollars and sentenced to 30 days in the workhouse by Police Judge Whaldon. His wife, 18, testified to repeated quarrels and separations.
A team of horses pulling a scenery wagon belonging to Frank Bird Transfer started to run at the Park theater stage entrance Thursday morning. They struck another scenery wagon injuring Robert Ritchie and damaging Victor Black's gravel wagon, with one horse knocked down.
Ralph Alhoff aged 16 from 1442 Rembrandt street ran away to Dayton Ohio after fearing a beating from his mother. He was found at the Traction Terminal station by Patrolman Doss Shaffer and sent to police headquarters to await his parents.
Washington Oct 14 Wan Ting Fang the retiring Chinese minister to the United States is pursuing investigations into spiritualism before leaving for China. He reports messages via a medium claiming to speak with his mother and President McKinley. Wu showed cautious interest but did not fully endorse the communications. The medium is said to answer in Chinese through an Indian girl control and broken English.
A Carlisle South Dakota man, A J Bailey, asks police to locate his fiancée May Powell of Indianapolis who sent him $36 for travel to Carlisle and promised marriage. He believes she swindled him, citing a belated wedding date and instructions to avoid a license until arrival. Officers note his poor luck and vague address.
Otto Truhann, 36, convicted of arson for burning the McDougal kitchen cabinet plant and several Indianapolis residences, is to serve at the Michigan City prison hospital for the criminally insane. He pled insanity. witnesses said he was unbalanced. Property loss from the fires estimated at about $175,000.
William Semons, of 308 N New Jersey Street, came home Thursday to find his wife mending a boarder’s trousers. He attacked her, dumped the cooking dinner into a coat bucket, and Mrs Semons retaliated by hurling a glass tumbler at his head, cutting his rash. Miss Edna Harris alerted police as Semons pursued her. bicycle officers Schlangan and Hartsell arrested him on assault and battery.
In a police court hearing at Central avenue and Nineteenth street two Black men, Lawrence Vic toc and James Hillard, gave conflicting accounts of a furnace job dispute that escalated to a revolver incident. Judge Whallon fined Jullard $1 and six months in the workhouse. Victor was discharged. Both men had battered faces and exchanged warrants as they clashed over who fired and who struck.
Albert Lieber president of Indianapolis Brewing Company formed a poultry partnership with Carl P Walls on a Washington township farm. Lieber claims poor management, no accounting, no profits, and Walls excessive drinking. He seeks a receiver to wind up the business and says Walls misrepresented his poultry experience.

In Pittsburg Pa Oct 14 George Augstian age 1 shot Margaret Lang 18 at his home after a remark about muddy shoes. The girl died instantly as a shotgun blast entered her temple while her arm shielded her face. She was a cousin of three Lang children burned to death three weeks earlier.
City officials finalise ballot form for school commissioners with two term groups. Ten city ticket names run alongside space for up to sixty per party, with 1910 and 1912 terms listing six candidates and voter urged to select five across both terms. Candidates include Tutewiller McGowan Moores Sickels Heath Morrisor Nicholson Weber Yoke Sluss Taylor Emitch McMillin.
Thomas McCarty, 50, entered Mrs. Mary Mazon’s home at 11 3 Missouri Street Thursday and demanded a meal then insisted on fresh coffee. Frightened, Mrs. Mason and her daughter called police as McCarty claimed to be from Cleveland and a tramp. officers Wilson and Delane arrested him.
