Drowns In White River Near Workmen Site
Howard Miller 20, a dock hand for Indiana Gravel, drowned in the White River near a sand barge north of Michigan Street after apparently losing balance while stepping from a skiff. Samuel Reveal dove after him but could not reach the depth, and workers recovered the body within minutes. Miller lived at 1314 Sheffield Avenue and had worked for the company since Tuesday.
