Studies in Literature and Modern Readers Aim

The Sun argues against overemphasis on ancient Greek and Roman heroes and lengthy older works. It urges modern literature and accessible writers like Pope, Cowper, Bryant, Longfellow, and Macaulay for practical value. It notes charitable efforts for a Sunday school kindergarten and calls for reader donations. It mentions social tensions in Ireland and ongoing civic improvements. It ends with a note on a Chicago show and world fairs.
