Freveis Murphy addressed 600 workers at Kingan's packing house on W Washington Ave noon meeting. He urged temperance, pledged a historic strike, and urged workers to save wages for families as pigs squealed nearby and hogs were slaughtered. Murphy then toured the plant before heading to Creston Iowa to campaign for prohibition.
New York reports unrest in the base ball brotherhood as rumors claim Keefe seeks to oust Ward. If not chosen president he may press a split, aiming to enroll half the members and force a return to the national league with Ward excluded. Eastern bre train dispatchers of the C I W are to be moved from Springfield to Indianapolis. D L Hamar named auditor and treasurer of the C by O road, and E B Crosley to hold a similar post on the T H P T. A. Rittenhouse, formerly Gan’s manager, will join the Otto Southern in a similar role.

Andy Rhinehart former salesman for Charles W. Wilson charged with embezzling 214 dollars from his employer. He allegedly fled to Scapa, was arrested at Denver, and returned by Detective Thornton. Also, Winkie Reynolds of Pike County gang pleaded guilty and received two years in federal prison. Daniel and Brownlow Davie, Pike County brothers, found with counterfeit nickels, each jailed 30 days and fined ten dollars.
