Reports describe the heaviest morning vote in Indianapolis history with precincts opening at 6 to 7 am. Large crowds queued, parties claimed gains, and arrests for alleged election law violations surfaced amid broad voter excitement across wards one through fourteen.
Milwaukee weather mild as voting begins. Reports show a very heavy early vote across Wisconsin Minnesota Missouri Illinois with Republicans optimistic on gains while Democrats and fusion forces seek surprising margins. Postmaster General Wilson votes for Palmer Buckner. others anticipate large turnout and close contests in several states.

Madrid dispatch reports Huelva swept by Atlantic tidal wave with heavy loss of life. The steamer Cartagena was overwhelmed and most aboard drowned. Huelva, a maritime town in Spain, lies 49 miles northwest of Seville and serves as a railway terminus with sea export trade. Population around 12,000.
Indiana polls opened with a large early turnout amid cloudy skies and expectations of a heavy statewide vote. Republican Secretary Mansfield claimed favorable indications, noting rural majorities while Democrats faced urban losses and delays in some precincts to try and push voting past 6 p.m. Fort Wayne and Lafayette reports described quiet, orderly progress and a final rally by Helen Gougar as silverites closed the campaign.
An unknown boy about 15 years old was crushed by a northbound freight on Belt railroad just below Shelby street. A brakeman warned him not to jump from the moving train, but the boy, who rode trains regularly, was dragged under the wheels after two companions urged him to leap. Three cars passed over the body, leaving it unrecognizable. A companion named Hiram Collins did not know the lad. The incident occurred Tuesday forenoon. further description is blocked by the condition of the remains.

Thomas Burham, a Cincinnati immigrant bricklayer, was struck by a Big Four train near the Dillon street crossing on Monday evening. He suffered a crushed leg and was taken to City Hospital where the leg was amputated.
