New York reports Fioggio Puccio, schoolmate of Detective Petrosino, shot and killed in the fourth floor hallway of his East 75th Street home. The assassin aimed from the floor above as Puccio climbed the stairs, lights on three floors extinguished to aid the ambush. Police, Italian detectives, and medical examiner attended the scene. Puccio died instantly from a large calibre pistol wound.

Fred Willner aged six and son of George Winer of 3417 Graceland Avenue died after his right leg was crushed beneath a northbound Street car on Winers and Thirty-fourth streets.
