A fierce tornado swept Dacca and nearby towns, killing hundreds and injuring thousands. Homes were torn apart and crops destroyed, with relief trains prepared to aid the stricken region.
A gas explosion early Thursday at Indiana National Bank caused 600 to 700 dollars in damage. The blast occurred in a wall behind a marble structure concealing electric wires and sewer lines, shattering the marble but leaving the washstand and faucet intact. Bank VP McKee blamed electric conduits. city engineer Guy Boyle doubted that and suggested gas, sewer, natural, or artificial, as the likely cause after inspecting a nearby manhole cover blown off.

Mrs Johanna Beally reported missing from her home April 16 returned Wednesday morning. She told The Sun she was not lost or planning self harm, had been visiting friends in the city, and planned only a short stay, noting mail concern prompted her return. She declined to name her friends.

The judge granted a temporary injunction against Lajoie and Bernhardt but refused broader action in the absence of Judge Ralston.
The probated will of Lewis George is to be challenged. It leaves most personal property to the son Marion and daughter Eleanor Debolt with a specific land partition giving the daughter absolute ownership before a remainder to the four sons Elias O. Curren M. Willis B. and Vernon George. George explains the larger bequest to his daughter for care, noting he thought Marion had already received his share through advances and a farm sale.
In a 11 mile duel near Almira Washington Billy Gibbons and partner Wild fought while pursued by deputies after a horse theft arrest. Gibbons was killed after a gunfight and Wild escaped. authorities recaptured Gibbons as he died at Almira.

In Cincinnati Ohio on Thursday Alice Schroth 28 daughter of Michael Behhy of the Schroth packing company shot herself in the right temple. She had long suffered from epilepsy.
Washington dispatch notes Bernley Buley, a Black man who was lynched in Brandenburg Kentucky for shooting a man in the leg. Buley had worked as a porter at the St. Louis hotel and had a mother living there.
