John Hogan a 21 year old brakeman on the Panhandle was killed at Kokomo Wednesday night. He was on top of a car setting the hand brake when the air brake was released and the cars jerked forward, throwing him between cars and decapitating him. Hogan had worked on the Green line division since January after moving from Terre Haute. He had been rooming with William Kruger in Indianapolis for two weeks. His family background is noted with his father described as wealthy and his sister married to Terre Haute’s chief of police.
Truant officer Mark Smit reports entering Justice Hay's court over a case. George Friedman of 2319 Brookside Ave is arrested for failing to send his son Willie, 12, to school for 12 weeks. Friedman disputes the charge claiming the boy has not left school and is over 14, the lay age limit.
