Washington reports a rapid naval buildup with plans to spend 7 million dollars on 100 fast torpedo boats and destroyers. A naval board advised 30 destroyers and 6 torpedo boats, to be built at high speed and ready within 90 days as tensions with Spain rise.
Flora Falkner attempted suicide with morphine after a domestic dispute in Conk Street. Dr. Thomas of the City Dispensary treated her from 11 p m Tuesday until 2 a m Wednesday. she grew weak and died at 11 o'clock Wednesday. An oily man with black hair aided the scene and gave a vague account. Weather section noted.
