June 13 report in Tagblatt re Port says Albanian troops garrisoning the sultan’s palace at Constantinople began a serious revolt Saturday. A fierce fight broke out inside the Tildig kiosk between the rebels and the Asiatic regiment. The Albanians were overpowered after several were killed and many wounded. The incident followed assassinations at Belgrade and caused panic in the palace and the court.
In Vuenna on June 13 a man shouting I am the son of God rushed after Emperor Joseph armed with a club. The coachman struck him, the horses ran, and bystanders seized the attacker. Police identified the prisoner as Jacob Reich, an unemployed commercial agent. Reich, deemed insane, was incarcerated but later resealed.
