Charles W. Greene, a 18 year United States Express Company clerk, was arrested at his 360 South New Jersey Street home in Indianapolis after absconding June 24 with about 1500 in company funds. He returned to surrender but was intercepted before leaving his south side residence. He appeared in a dazed state, shaving his mustache and wearing a new light suit, while his wife and child feared for his safety. He claimed robbery and said he had been sleeping poorly since departing.
