Two Men Die in Steel Mill Boiler Explosion at Homestead

Early Wednesday a boiler explosion tore through the 30 inch mill at Carnegie steel works in Homestead. Two men, Harry Breneman and John Gorecker, were killed instantly as their bodies were blown 40 yards away. Several others injured as the boiler room wrecked. losses estimated at $10,000. The disaster was blamed on impure river water feeding the boilers. John Dernak and William Banks also suffered severe injuries.
