Wiped Out by a Cyclone in Little Rock Disaster

A devastating cyclone struck Little Rock Arkansas during the early hours of Wednesday, tearing through the city. Fires, collapsed buildings, and broken telegraph lines hampered rescue as 25 bodies were retrieved by 10 am and the death toll was expected to rise toward 75 with many injured. Rescue work proceeded under torchlight as neighborhoods burned and communication to outside points was severed.
