Sensational turmoil surrounds the Order of the Iron Hall with threats of criminal action not carried out and the supreme justice's location unknown. Reports note Somerby may appear in Indianapolis, while auditors dispute its finances and counsel additions are rumored.
A Lux reporter spoke with Accountant Davis at the iron hall offices on Monday afternoon. Davis said Supreme justice Somerby had not been heard from, leaving Detroit after arriving late Saturday night and staying at the Normatiale hotel. Dispatches indicate he left the city on Sunday with unclear whereabouts.
Governor Chase returned to his former post as the State Board of Tax Commissioners began its first meeting. The opener centered on organizing the board and adopting last year’s rules with changes setting August deadlines for appeals. Railway corporation protests hearing slated for August 8. adjournment reached at noon until Wednesday.

The Chicago News Record recounts a disruptive incident within Judge Ralph Hill's family that spilled into public view. A quarrel over a spilled water incident led Mrs Hill to pursue their son Ralph with a mop. The son struck her on the forehead, causing blood to flow and drawing a crowd. She filed a warrant for assault and battery, later dismissed by the court after full context was considered. The Hill family is prominent in Indianapolis and the judge is a leading state lawyer.
The light artillery arrived at their armory on N Mississippi street Sunday afternoon about 4 o clock from the state camp at Frankfort overland. The return march was quicker and better ordered than the forward trip with men and horses inured to the road. The cavAlcade with banners flew as the squad entered town.

A strike ordered by the board of walking delegates against J B and J M Cornell owners of the Jackson architectural iron works company and against the iron league broadens beyond expectations. Last week the strike covers all trades in building and construction except bricklayers and plumbers. Sixty eight major New York projects under construction are halted and numerous other jobs cannot proceed satisfactorily.
Frank Minor was fined $25 in police court on Monday for injuring and overdriving four horses owned by Allison, a livery stable owner. He appeared in fashionable attire with a blue sack coat and light pants, pale and frightened, as one of the young men who recently took a buckboard ride.

He says he was hired as an assistant by a man who later shot informer Carey in Africa. The prison commissioners ordered an inquiry into the confession.
The executive committee of the union and several bosses settled their wage dispute Sunday. Contractors agreed to hire only union men going forward. The Western paving company missed the meeting and may resolve remaining issues after Manager Kenyon returns from Chicago. A separate report covers Policeman Kennedy's assault by eight toughs on Tenth Ave. He was injured but shot one attacker and captured another, following past praise for saving a drowning girl.
