Divorce suit follows alleged crime of husband and LaDana

A prominent Indianapolis man, Millison, faces divorce action after his wife accused him of infidelity with Minnie LaDana. Double Funeral for Grandmother and Grandson in Bloomington

A touching funeral was held Thursday at Charles J. Peck's residence for Anna C. Anthony and Raymond Peck, aged 21 months. The grandmother nursed the child through illness, and both are said to have died within days of each other. They were buried together in a single casket per the grandmother's dying wish.

Supreme Court Orders Jackson County Election on Seat Move

The supreme court held that Jackson county must order an election under the 7895 act to decide if the county seat moves from Brownstown to Seymour. The commissioners had refused, a lower court issued a writ of mandate, and on appeal the court ruled the election must be called. It is a hotly debated issue in the county. The Indianapolis presbytery met at Acton and elected Winona assembly commissioners including Rev W C Miller and Rev Frank Hayes as ministerial commissioners with Gen Harrison and James Ross as lay commissioners. Rev Dr Weaver of Greencastle was chosen moderator. Ss. w Swiggett, veteran newspaperman, dies at his son Charles H Swiggett’s home. He helped publish Sioux City’s first panel and worked with papers in Connersville and Cincinnati. He left a widow, four sons, and a daughter.

Dazed by chloroform plot targets Shipman girl in home

Alice Shipman awoke about 3 AM to a chloroform soaked handkerchief over her face. William Malady, an old criminal, lay prostrate by her bed with shoes at the back door and a bottle uncorked nearby. Police say Malady entered to commit a felony, likely to assault the girl, but was overcome by fumes. He was rushed to City hospital in serious condition, while the Shipman family faces a troubled history with his presence.
