Supreme Court Orders Jackson County Election on Seat Move
The supreme court held that Jackson county must order an election under the 7895 act to decide if the county seat moves from Brownstown to Seymour. The commissioners had refused, a lower court issued a writ of mandate, and on appeal the court ruled the election must be called. It is a hotly debated issue in the county.
