Deputy Fire Chief Callahan was injured in a Harlem fire that forced more than 50 residents from their homes. The blaze began on the fourth floor of a six story brick building at 107th street and the roof burned as flames spread to the top floors. Local responders sent to Harlem Hospital for treatment.

The Indianapolis Park Board met in regular session Friday and deferred action on selecting the public playground commission until next Friday. An effort is under way to name a woman as a commissioner. The board authorized CEO Snyder to advertise for bids to be used on Capitol avenue in May.
