William Walker twenty five was killed by Elmer Ginn twenty one at a rooming house on East Market Street. Ginn jealous over Walker s alleged interest in Ginn s wife. Mrs Ginn testified as a witness as Ginn waited under a bed and opened fire wounding Walker before police arrived.
Panic hits the wheat pit at the Board of Trade as May wheat slides from 1.2914 to 1.26 amid thin demand. Prices rebound to 1.2716 before closing. Reports claim 1% of wheat is held by farmers. global scarcity notes by Patten. Ohio mills pay 1.48 for No. 2 red winter. Otway A. Baker delivered the Indiana statehouse keys to Charles J. Wheeler of Noblesville and stepped aside for Wheeler, the Republican appointee. Democrat Thomas F. Colbert and Michael H. Cain, both named by Gov. Marshall, received commissions. Colbert demanded the keys but was refused. Courts will settle the dispute. the transfer occurred amicably without National Guard involvement.
April 15 report from Sullivan Indiana says a nitro factory near Gordon Wisconsin in Sullivan County was destroyed by an explosion this afternoon. The blast was heard up to five miles away and several people are reported killed.
New York bakers faced a 40 cent per barrel rise in flour with bread flour at 6.80 to 6.85 dollars per hundredweight. About 35000 pounds were affected as many bakers were laid off recently. In Winnipeg the price increased by ten cents per hundred twice in two days.
Coroner Blackwell deputies and Mayor Bookwalter testified about Mrs Nichols body after her March 9 death in southwest Indianapolis. Edward Decker, 18, faces murder charges alongside Harry Rigagin George Miller and Harry Doty. Jurors toured the scene after opening statements as prosecutors alleged Decker joined the plot at Harry Riggin s home to murder and rob Mary Nichols.
The Indianapolis flour market showed no change Thursday despite wheat gains yet milling firms warned higher flour prices were coming. Market watchers noted promises of increases in the local and other markets as of Thursday afternoon.
Joseph Taggart of Taggart Baking Company, the largest baking interests in Indiana, warned Thursday that bread prices could rise if wheat costs stay high. He said bakers face a flour market squeeze and may need to cut loaf size or raise prices within about two weeks.

Patten, the wheat king, urged a government probe into speculation and warned that new laws could trigger widespread price swings and many failures across the country. May wheat closed around $1.27 with July at $1.15% and September near $1.065.
Washington April 15 Secretary of State Knox said he received a telegram from George S Ward of Pittsburgh asking the government to end the wheat corner in Chicago. Knox turned it over to Attorney General Wickersham. He said the department of justice and not the state department would consider such matters. The investigation will be begun at once.
Michael Ehrman, 40, was buried by a cave in at a sewer on E Washington Street near the Belt railroad. Nearly 45 minutes were needed to free him, then he crawled out a ladder. He was unharmed beyond shock and received air from dirt cleared away from his head.
Berlin April 15. Richardo, a hand cuff performer, attempted a daring exhibition at Land schut Bavaria and jumped manacled from a bridge. He failed to release the cuffs and drowned. The incident reports a tragedy with one known victim and ensuing cautionary notes to performers.
