Michigan City dispatch reports a broad prison inquiry into Dr. Horne and Deputy Warden Barnard. Witnesses accuse or defend staff as governors probe rotten meat, abuse claims, and a disputed mortgage transfer while Cassidy may be compelled to testify.
A Sun report questions whether Mrs Ray paid George M Ray twice to keep him as a hospital assistant while he was a state employee. Horne, the target, spent about 400 dollars on the case and cannot proceed with further investigations. Officials refuse Sun access to Ray, citing policy and potential press rights. Mr and Mrs Charles Fearnaught and their six year old son Carl were badly injured when a streetcar from the Indianapolis company collided with their northbound phaeton at the Maryland and Illinois streets corner Sunday evening. The father suffered a crushed skull and two broken ribs. the boy had minor skull injuries. the mother internal injuries but all are hospitalized or recovering. Pedestrians narrowly escaped as the interurban car and streetcar interfered with traffic for nearly two hours.
A man jumped from darkness on Sunday night at Orange and Linden streets striking Mrs. Otto Mowwe as she pushed a baby carriage. She bleeding from the mouth, the assailant fled when neighbors arrived. Mrs. Mowwe says the attacker wore a cap and disappeared into the darkness.

In Des Moines on April 14 Nora Conway, a Black woman, shot and killed her divorced husband after a quarrel at Hilton. He reportedly drew a taser and assaulted her. she produced a revolver and fired. Conway was arrested and jailed in Alba.

Dr B D Cox was shot dead on his way home from the office in Jackson Kentucky Sunday night. Three shots from an unseen assailant killed the physician with no clue to the killer at the scene.
