Alvin McLaughlin age 20 was stabbed to death at 8 oclock Saturday morning in the Kingan packing plant by Joan Baison also 20. The two men in the Sausage room clashed over sausage meat after Baison allegedly called McLaughlin a vile name. McLaughlin struck Baison, who then seized a long blade and killed him. Batson attempted to flee but was captured. he gave a straightforward account of the quarrel claiming self defense. Baison, a native of Austria, was taken to police headquarters for questioning.
