Mrs Lena A Keener wife of Johnston Keener of West Philadelphia street died Monday at 1 30 pm after months of fragile health and a ten day critical period. She was daughter of the late John Armstrong of Armstrong township and is survived by two sisters and a husband with five children including Frank J Keener J B Keener Rev J A Keener I W Keener and William Keener. A member of First United Presbyterian church the funeral will be held today at noon with Rev Dr iall officiating and interment at Sueloeta.

Horse Thief Arrested in Brushvalley Township
John Donahue of Westmoreland county hired a horse and cart from Charles Porter in Greenville and tried to flee with the rig. Constable Snyder arrested him Thursday in Brushvalley, and he was jailed after being brought to Blairsville. The horse and cart were recovered by the owner, but the harness was taken to Punxsutawney and not yet returned.

Hungry Thieves Take Butter and Sheep in East Mahoning
Last week criminals entered Robert Marshall’s spring house in East Mahoning township and stole about 20 pounds of butter. That same night they butchered a sheep owned by George McHenry and took the meat. The thieves are said to ride in a backwagon with a dun colored mule. Residents vow swift arrests if the culprits are caught.

Horse Fatally Cut in Farm Accident
Mr J M Barkley of Buffington township lost a valuable farm horse last week when a team hitched to a corn cutter bolted in the field. A sharp knife struck the other horse as it moved and both leaders were severed. The injured horse was shot.
