Com va Agatino Rugiero pleaded guilty to second degree murder for the killing of Sebasti no Al liza on the Dren fing farm near Homer City on July 19. The drama involved a betrothal dispute and a damaging family quarrel that culminated in gunfire. the father died a day after the shooting and Rugiero was arrested. The court has not yet passed sentence while other cases concluded with mixed verdicts and fines. Veteran Conrad Pifer of Rochester Mills, 86, served in the Mexican and Civil wars, three enlistments total, earned a 20 day furlough for being best soldier in the First Division of the Twenty Fourth Army Corps, and attended a fall ox roast with about 300 other veterans. He resides with his son William, is a member of John Pollock Post G. A.
