Former Pupils Honor Veteran Instructor at Reunion in Cherryhill
Nearly 1000 pupils and more than 250 attendees gathered at D. O. Wolfe’s Cherryhill home for a long teaching career tribute dating to the 1860s. The 1840-born educator taught 14 schools before farming, active in county institutes and teachers meetings well into age. Also noted was Thomas Wiggins and Sarah McCollum’s 59th anniversary on September 9 with about 50 guests. their family includes 10 children, 24 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren.

The Democratic ticket for district attorney will not include Charles H. Moore of Biriwsville after Justice John Sp Elkin granted a special supersedeas, with Supreme Court concurrence. Moore had filed Sept 9 with 657 signers but 10 withdrew, leaving insufficient signatures. A local court had ordered printing, but the supersedeas halted further action amid GOP and Dem appeals.

Syrian peddler robbed of cash near Devil's Elbow
M Sabin, a Syrian peddler, was robbed near Devil's Elbow on a Saturday night. Two men with guns demanded his receipts from a load of ice cream, lifting $15,686 before fleeing into the woods. He returned to town to report the incident but no one accompanied him to pursue the attackers.

County Commissioners Conclude Pennsylvania Session Next Year in Indiana
The Pennsylvania County Commissioners convention closed after a three day session with Hon. John Fisher of town delivering remarks on county avenues from local taxation.
