Snake bite at fair snake show injures proprietor
William Henry of Canoe township, a snake show proprietor at the county fair, was bitten on the right hand by a viper exhibited before spectators. Whisky countered the poison, he was rushed to jail hospital, became crazed and raged, then calmed by Dr. H B Buterbaugh. The wound swelled to the elbow though he returned to the grounds next day to draw crowds by showing his injured hand.

Death notices from Homer City and surrounding area
Frank Devinney of Homer City died in St Jobs Hospital Pittsburg from typhoid fever after five weeks illness. He worked at the indior works in Homer City and was moved to hospital. He is survived by five children, a sister in George Wy and a mother, with his wife long deceased. Remains were taken to Homer City and interred at Crestwoor Cemetery. Mrs Harvey Leech of Warren, 64, died of heart trouble. Her funeral was at the Methodist Church with Rev G S Holmes officiating. interment in Oakland Cemetery. She was born Catherine Iosensteel of Blacklick, widow of John Leech, now survived by a brother-in-law Mrs A M Marines of Normal. John Lowman of Lawrence Gy Wayne died of consumption, age about 40. Former Jacksonville resident taught school in the county. He lived in Kansas about eight years. He is survived by wife and two children, a brother Thomas, and sister Mrs Elizabeth Dick of Lawrence, Kan. Interment will be in Jacksonville.
