Bond Issue Promises 1335 Miles of New Pennsylvania Highways

William Jennings of Harrisburg says a $50,000,000 bond issue for Pennsylvania roads will extend the state system to at least 183 miles of durable modern highways. He notes prior bonds built miles of roads, with county projects and the state highway department handling most work. The plan is broadly supported across parties and road groups, and $10,000,000 would be reserved to aid counties in reconstructing secondary roads if counties meet the state allocation.
