Early returns show the entire Republican ticket victorious. County commissioners Clark, Smith, and Campbell elected. Campbell a Democrat nominee with strong cross-votes. Statewide, road bond issue and four state amendments appear approved. Other new county officers include Sheriff Malcolm, Treasurer Bennett, Prothonotary Bath, Register Ayers, District Attorney Miller, Auditors Williams and Grumbling, Surveyor McCrea, Coroner St Clair. Henderson elected judge of the Superior Court.

Bank Robbery Suspects Detained in Johnstown
Five men, including three Mexicans and 16 Italians, were arrested in Johnstown after a bank robbery at First National Bank in Bakerton Cambria County. The masked trio fled with $2000 as police pursued. Albert Kaylor was wounded in the arm during the pursuit and the robbers then took John Davis’s car before escaping. Suspects to be held pending investigation.

A stove explosion in a Philadelphia Street cafe kitchen caused a morning blaze that destroyed the Indiana Cafe and endangered the surrounding frame building. Owner Alex Marcopotous awakened occupants and alerted the fire department, which prevented wider damage. Building owned by Morris Rothstein. insurance covers damage to the structure though equipment was uninsured.

Apollo resident David B Coulter aged 90 and one month, a Civil War veteran with Company M of the 14th Pennsylvania Cavalry, died Wednesday. He left a large family including sons HW Coulter and Jno Ganlter and many daughters and grandchildren. Interment was in Apollo cemetery after services at the Apollo M W church.

Child Dies in Burning Barn in Blacklick Township
Delbert Hill, two and a half, of Blacklick Township, was killed when a barn and its contents were destroyed by fire on his grandfather Daniel Hill’s farm. His brother, five, and their mother tried to reach him but the building burned. Neighbors aided, but the origin is unknown though suspected to be children playing with matches. The loss included cattle, crops, and farm machinery. The house was saved by nearby residents.

Mrs Leng Metlain dies at Cherry Tree of asthma
Mrs Lena Mae McCiint aged about 60 died Saturday at her Cherry Tree home from asthma and related complications. A daughter of J. H. Bomnell of Williamsport she is survived by her husband and six children. The remains go to Jersey Shore for interment today.
